The '73 CB tank does not fit the frame of the '83 CBSC which required the fabrication of a custom mounting bracket. The original CB gas cap was non-serviceable so it was cut out and replaced with a more modern pop-up gas cap typically used on a Harley Davidson custom motorcycle. Using 40 year old parts does mean that they will have acquired lots of "character", AKA dents, rust and potentially leaks.
With any project, it is incredibly easy to get off track and distracted. Most of us have plenty going on in our lives, so it can be very taxing to stay focused to finishing a motorcycle. I want to share some of the things I have found that work for me, with the hope this can help someone else with time management.
