LyX documentation. For individual lists, you'll have to do this by hand: for example, for one particular list, you can add the following LaTeX code at the beginning of the list:. Also, in my LyX 2.
Spacing can be altered in LaTeX either throughout the document, by using packages and controls to make the spacing consistent, or by using manual changes for specific spacing needs. Changing the spacing on a document-wide basis is done for different document settings using different packages. The sectsty package controls the spacing of section headings; the mdwlist package controls the spacing for lists; the geometry package controls the overall margins and text area of the document.
What I did was to create my own LaTeX command, and then use that command instead of the traditional enumerate tag. This works just as well for the itemize tag. After you define this command, just use it instead of enumerate or itemize, and your line spacing will essentially be reduced to single line spacing.
The history of sentence spacing is the evolution of sentence spacing conventions from the introduction of movable type in Europe by Johannes Gutenberg to the present day. Typesetting in all European languages enjoys a long tradition of using spaces of varying widths for the express purpose of enhancing readability. American, English, French, and other European typesetters' style guides—also known as printers' rules —specified spacing rules which were all essentially identical from the 18th century onwards. This remained standard for quite some time.
It is particularly strong in typesetting mathematical expressions. Its interpretation of most plain text is consistent with the expectations of an old-fashioned typist. Some differences, however, lead many writers into errors.

I'm modifying the report. The only bit left is to format the table of contents line spacing. The contents should be double spaced except between any two entries of the same level e.
This is harder to fix that at first appears, just because changing the line height will have knock on effects in the class. Perhaps renewing the doublespace command is the best thing to do rather than changing baselineskip or anything else that drastic. However, the measurements should be in terms of ex, not mm, since it needs to function correctly in the 10pt footnotes also.
Version: 3. If the document class for your document doesn't include options that change the line spacing, use the LaTeX setspace package to specify single, one-and-one-half, or double spacing. Note that some shells and some documents created with older versions of SWP and SW may require the doublespace packagenow superseded by setspace. If your document was created with a Style Editor shell, these packages probably won't work.
